Antenatal Care

After the pregnancy is confirmed it is important to plan your antenatal care with your obstetrician and schedule the appointments needed during pregnancy. During these appointments you can discuss common problems like morning sickness to any concerns regarding diet, weight gain, etc. These consultations will include a detailed check-up, ultrasound scans, blood and urine tests and vaccinations. Checking blood pressure, checking the weight, feeling and measuring the tummy are some of the things to expect. The number of appointments will vary depending on how things are progressing. It is also a good idea to bring someone to the appointment who will provide support during your journey from pregnancy to child birth, especially when discussing a birth plan with your obstetrician.
